Configuring Mac OS for STEP-UP

TCP/IP Control Panel Configuration for Mac OS 10.4

  1. To make a new dialup connection, click the "Go" menu and then select "applications".
  2. Double-click the icon "Internet Connect".
  3. Clcik the icon "Internet Connection".
  4. Cick on the "Configuration" drop down list, and choose "Edit Configurations".
  5. Fill in the required informtion respectively:
  • Description: The name of the dialup connection
  • Telephone Number: On campus users enter 20987. If you are off campus, enter 4820987. To disable call waiting include *70 before the phone number.
  • Account name and password: Your clid and password.
  1. Click OK to create a new dialup connection.
  2. On your desktop, click the "Go" menu and then select "Applications".
  3. Double click the icon "Internet Connect".
  4. Click the menu "Internal Modem" and select a dialup connectin ("Other") under the Configuration menu.
  5. Clck the "Connect" button to dial.
  6. The dialup status will display at the bottom part of the window.
  7. An IP address will display after your conneciton is successfully made. Yu can start using your applications.
  8. Click the "Disconnect" button when finish your dialup connection.
