Creating a Dialup Connection Icon
Dialup to the campus network requires the use of a modem
and a telephone line. Local and long-distance telephone charges
may apply.
- Click Start - Settings - Network
- Dial-up Connections.
- Double-click Make New Connection.
- Once the Network Connection Wizard appears click
Next.
- Select "Dial-up to the Internet", then
click Next.
- The Internet Connection Wizard will appear. Select
"I want to set up my Connection manually..."
and click Next.
- Select "I connect through a phone line and modem."
Click Next.
- Enter the telephone number. On-campus users must enter
0029#9,761-7837. If you are off campus type 761-7837.
To disable call waiting from off-campus type *70,761-7837.
- De-select "Use area-code and dialing rules."
Click Next.
- Enter your UCS user name and password. Click Next.
- Locate Internet Mail Acct. and select No.
Click Next.
- Click Finish.
Connecting to STEP-UP
- Click Start - Settings - Network
- Dial-up Connections.
- Double-click your new connection and click Dial.
- When you are ready to disconnect, locate the connection
icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen near
the clock. Double-click the icon and click Disconnect.
