Creating a Dialup
Connection Icon
Dialup to the campus network requires the use of a modem and
a telephone line. Local and long-distance telephone charges
may apply. - Double-click My Computer on your desktop.
- Double-click Dial-up Networking.
- Double-click Make New Connection.
- In the text field, type a name for the new connection
(eg. UL Internet, Internet, etc.) and click Next.
- On-campus users must enter 0029#9,761-7837 for
the telephone number. If you are off campus type 761-7837.
To disable call waiting from off-campus type *70,761-7837.
Once you have entered the correct phone number, click Next.
- Click Finish.
Connecting to STEP-UP
- Double-Click My Computer.
- Double-click Dial-Up Networking and then double-click
your new STEP-UP icon.
- Type your CLID (UCS username) in the User Name
text field and your UCS password in the Password
field.
- Click Connect.
- When you are ready to disconnect, locate the connection
icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen near
the clock. Double-click the icon and click Disconnect.
