Dialup to the campus network requires the use of a modem
and a telephone line. Local and long-distance telephone charges
may apply.
- Click Start - Programs - Accessories
- Dial-up Networking.
- In the Dial-up Networking window, click New, type
a name for the phone book entry, and click Next.
- Make sure that each of the next three options are selected
(calling the Internet, send password as plain text, calling
a non-NT server) and click Next.
- In the Telephone Number text field, type 761-7837.
If you are calling from an on-campus phone you must enter
0029#9,7617837# to disable the Audix call-waiting
feature. If you are calling from an off-campus line that
has call waiting, enter *70, 7617837 to disable call
waiting. Once you have entered the correct phone number,
click Next.
- Select Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) and click
Next.
- Select None and click Next.
- Make sure that the IP address reads 0.0.0.0 and click
Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Dial to dial the STEP-UP modem pool.
- Enter your UCS user name and password, make sure the
Domain is blank and click OK.
- When you are ready to disconnect, locate the connection
icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen near
the clock. Double-click the icon and click Hangup.
