Computers Available: 38 - Sun Blade 150 Workstations / 34 - Dell Windows Workstations

The Conference Center lab is the largest UCS lab on campus. The 38 Sun Blade 150 workstations run the Solaris 8 operating system and are available to students, faculty and staff. Users of the Sun Blade 150 workstations may access a variety of email tools, the World Wide Web, word processing applications, statistical packages, image processing and drawing software, numerous programming compilers, and other applications. The system also provides remote access from a computer which can connect to the campus network d1.uc.louisiana.edu through d38.ucs.louisiana.edu or s7.ucs.louisiana.edu throught s70.ucs.louisiana.edu or c2.ucs.louisiana.edu through c1.ucs.louisiana.edu through c10.ucs.louisiana.edu. Operations, maintenance, software support, account creation, and user assistance are provided by University Support Services.

The Dell Windows comuters contain Windows XP with Office 2003 loaded. There are other minor software packages installed, like myMathLab, Flash, Acrobat, Quicktime, PdfCreator, etc.
