Configuring a UWIN Connection:
Windows XP Setup Utility

Getting Started with UWIN
The following instructions are for PCs running Microsoft Windows XP. To use UL Lafayette's wireless network connection, you must first configure a VPN connection. This connection will be used each time you connect to the wireless Internet connection at UL Lafayette

Statement of Support for UWIN
This procedure provides the steps needed to properly configure your Microsoft Windows XP computer with a wireless card or built-in wireless to access the University's official wireless network (UWIN). All information needed to obtain a successful connection to UWIN should be found in this guide. Users with personally owned computers who are having network software configuration conflicts (i.e.operating system upgrades or virus and spyware infestations) and/or hardware problems should consult with a commercially available technical support provider. Computing Support Services can only provide configuration instructions and advice to users of personally owned computers

Click on the setup utility icon below then reference the following instructions below for correct installation procedure:

 

  1. Click on the Connect to UWIN Image above for the installation program..



  2. Click RUN.



  3. Click RUN.



  4. Click Next.



  5. Click Next.



  6. Click Next.



  7. Click Install.



  8. Click Finish.



  9. Click Yes.



  10. Click OK.

  11. This should complete the installation process and configure the UWIN VPN connection on the XP machine if there are any configuration concerns these should be directed to the University help desk. Please visit the University help desk to correct any configuration errors at:
