University IT continues to support existing legacy Single- and Multi- Line phones, but these services cannot be extended to new buildings.
We are working with University departments to move from Ouitel to Mitel VoIP as new buildings are planned and brought online.
Network File Shares allow departments to have a central storage for files to be stored and used by others within the department. Each File Share is initially set up with 100GB per share. These shares are managed, maintained, & backed up by UCSS to keep them operating properly.
Voice of Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a relatively new way of providing telephone service. Think of VoIP as a virtual telephone. You are assigned a phone number provided by the University through a VoIP service provider . Using the provider's mobile or desktop applications, or a device resembling the traditional desktop phone set, you can place or receive calls using the phone number provided.
A shared mailbox provides you with an email account with your department’s name on it. This allows you to have an email account that can be shared with others within your department.
