Changes to Mitel Phone System

The Mitel Phone System is currently providing voice-over-ip (VOIP) service to our campus.  For those using the service please be aware of the following changes to the system that have been implemented:

  • Dial "9" + the 10-digit phone number (area code+number) for all outgoing off-campus calls.  
  • Some calls may temporarily continue to allow "9" + the 7-digit number for local calls for a short period of time
  • Dialing "1" + the number is no longer required.  Dial all off-campus calls, local and long distance, as "9" + the 10-digit number (areacode+phone number)
  • Continue to use the 5-digit extension for on-campus phone calls
