Mon, 02/02/2015 - 3:00pm -- David Savoie

UPDATE: Problems are surfacing with Outlook users.  If you use Outlook to read your email, you are probably getting an error message that the Global Address List cannot update due to a busy server.  This issue is being looked at by the Zimbra Administrators.

Friday, January 30, 2015, problems with the settings in Zimbra were preventing customers from accessing the Global Address List.

UPDATE - Outlook Users - Global Address List Problems

Fri, 01/30/2015 - 7:20am -- David Savoie

It appears the Global Address List display issue has been corrected.  If you are still experiencing problems, call the IT Help Desk.

For those of you who manage your email using Microsoft Outlook, there seems to be an issue with accessing the Global Address List, which is the directory of on-campus email addresses.

The problem - when you click on the "To" button while composing a new mail message, or you open the Address Book, the computer "thinks" for a while and returns an empty address list.

Over Quota Error

If you are unable to send or receive emails, you will need to check your quota usage. The bar below your name at the top right corner of the window displays your usage. A green bar indicates that you still have plenty of quota remaining. The bar will turn yellow when you are nearing your quota. A red bar means that you no longer have any room in your mailbox and you need to delete some messages. Mouse over the bar to display exactly how much of your quota you have used up.

Email Known Issues

1. Check your Zimbra Junk Folder Regularly

When you receive new mail, Zimbra checks to see if it is spam.  Any emails that score high enough on the spam filter in Zimbra are placed in your Junk folder for your review.  It is best practice to frequently check your Junk folder to see if there are any "good" e-mails that were erroneously sent to the Junk folder.
