Move IT Transfer Service
UL Lafayette has procured and implemented a secure file transfer application called MOVEit Transfer. MOVEit Transfer allows users to securely exchange data (similar to traditional email, but is sent/received encrypted & secured) with collaborators both within and outside of our university.
Once a MOVEit Transfer account ID is created for both parties (the sender and recipient), files up to 20 GB can be securely shared. These files are encrypted throughout the transfer process and are available for download for up to 14 days.

Using a Switch in Residence Halls
Wireless routers are NOT allowed in residence halls.
The use of mobile hotspots is also strongly discouraged
The ability to share your cellular data plan with your laptop or other devices can possibly work great for you, but will cause immediate interference for other residents. It is also important to remember that others around you may connect to your cell phone and use your data bandwidth, which may end up costing you overage fees.
